Taking a Break

Thursday, July 20th, 2006

I’m just taking a break for a while - I’ll be back eventually, probably closer to the November elections.

Comments Caught in Spam Filter

Tuesday, June 20th, 2006

To all of you that have left comments that never appeared - I found them in my spam filter and posted them this morning. Sorry about that. It was mostly blogs with a blogspot address. I have now adjusted the filter to at least flag them for moderation so I will know about them immediately.

A Word About Comments

Thursday, March 16th, 2006

Some of you may have noticed that your comments are not appearing immediately. Those of you that are on permanent moderation (you know who you are) are used to this. However, recently, the trackback spam had gotten so bad that I started expanding my comment words blacklist. As a result, some comments from people not on permanent moderation have gotten flagged. The difference between moderation and the blacklist is that moderation tells me when there is one waiting and blacklisting doesn’t - I have to remember go look every now and then.

I have just cleared all comments that got flagged as spam and they now appear. If you are not on the permanent moderation list (again, you know who you are) and your comment does not appear right away, just drop me a line to let me know.

Yeah, I know

Monday, September 26th, 2005

I am not posting much. I have been busy with Take Back the Memorial and have kinda let things slide here. Not to worry though - Rudy has FINALLY spoken out about the plans at Ground Zero, so hopefully the IFC will get the boot soon.

Lime Shurbet is One Year Old!

Saturday, September 10th, 2005

Yes, today is the day - one full year of bitching, moaning, and generally pissing other people off. I LOVE birthdays!

Now, where the hell is my cake, bitches?

**UPDATE**

Same name, same birthdate! Stop by and wish Rob @ Say Anything a happy second blogiversary!

Forced Outing Watch Disbanded

Thursday, August 18th, 2005

Well folks, I am disbanding the FOW blogroll. I will leave it active until the word gets out to the few members that there are, but I am removing it from the site.

Mostly because has lost any shred of credibility he may have once had but also because I am really sick of looking at that mug on my blog every day. We should all still keep an eye out for more of Rogers’ antics, but the guy is nothing more than a caricature of the bitter old spiteful queen and any support he may have once garnered has likely run its course. Hell, Avarosis and the rest of that crowd don’t even want anything to do with him any more.

Trackbacks Not Working

Friday, July 22nd, 2005

If anyone has tried to trackback to a post here, sorry, but they are not working. I am not sure why. I am going to make some time this weekend to try and track down the problem.

WordPress Upgrade

Saturday, May 28th, 2005

I upgraded the blog to WordPress 1.5.1.2 this morning. If you notice any weirdness, drop me a comment and let me know.

Light Posting

Friday, May 13th, 2005

Sorry for the light posting this week. I haven’t exactly been in the best of moods and haven’t really felt like blogging much. I didn’t get that job, although I was nearly over-qualified for it, and the reasons I am being given are laced with BS. It it beginning to look like this was an internal political thing, which is really pissing me off. Not to mention the fact that the interview panel was told something not factually true, yet I was not given a chance during the interview to respond to it. I am working with HR to get to the bottom of the whole mess which, if you have ever worked with a corporate HR department, is a lot like trying to get out of quicksand.

Anyway, I will try to muster up some posts this weekend, but don’t count on a lot. We have a considerable amount to get done before DC next Thursday and the weekend will likely be the only time we can get things accomplished.

What A Week - Some Updates

Saturday, May 7th, 2005

Well, I finally got my Powerbook back today after we got back from my b-day trip. All is restored and working fine so far. I did manage to wipe my iPod of about 600 songs and had to spend $50 bucks on PodSalvage, but it recovered everything and I was able to restore my music library.

I also had what is likely the best b-day and the best b-day present ever - brassguy is taking me on my first trip to DC in two weeks!!! I am so excited I can hardly contain myself! Now, is that a great b-day present or what? Sometimes I have to wonder what it was I did to deserve such a wonderful partner.

And last but not least, I had my interview today. I think I did pretty well. The company I work for does panel interviews and there were 7 people that interviewed me, so the setting can be somewhat intimidating. But I was among friends (I used to work at this particular facility), so it was a fairly comfortable setting for me - but I can’t speak for the other 3 candidates. I will likely find out on Monday - I hope. I don’t do “suspense” well.

I hope everyone had a great week and has a great weekend. I am going to spend mine catching up on sleep, housework and laundry.
