Pondering the Pledge

February 3rd, 2005

Recently, a leftist co-worker found a book in our break room called I Pledge Allegiance, by D.K. Webb. I work for a company that sells many things, including books, and this was a demo some vendor left laying about in there – a freebie, if you will.

In a very lame attempt to antagonize me, he brought it into my office and left it on my desk for me to find. When I came in and found it, he muttererd something about it being “my speed.” He was right – it is, and the message is more appropriate now than any other time in my life.

So to JM, I say thanks for the book, and…

“When our voices are silenced by our own lack of initiative and conviction, or muted by apathy and self-centered pursuits, then we have abandoned our solem vow of loyalty. We have forsaken the right to freedom. We have become parasites upon the lives of true patriots.” – I Pledge Allegiance by D.K. Webb

And you are welcome to borrow my new book whenever you like. You may find it is your speed as well.
