That Wasn’t A Sock He Stuffed Down There?

Thursday, March 31st, 2005

Apparently not.

He won’t do a day in prison for knowingly walking out of the National Archives with classified documents. I mean, how stupid or irresponsible or absent minded or all of the above does one have to be to have served as National Security Adviser and “inadvertently” remove secret, classified documents from the National Archives? And the left blames President Bush for 9/11?

Link Dump: Agree with Me Or Get lost?

Thursday, March 31st, 2005

So what the hell is this nonsense? Speak your mind and get the boot because you don’t agree on the Terri Schiavo issue?

If you believe that it would be wrong for a court to disregard the law and rule in favor of Bob and Mary Schindler who want to artificially keep the body of their brain-dead daughter alive, your blog isn’t welcome on HundredPercenter’s blogroll. If you think that it is wrong for judges to rule on personal convictions instead of simply applying the law, you’re gone.

[...]

Why, it’s a veritable “who’s who” of the libertarian-leaning blogs! When you get right down to it, it’s the people who don’t feel that they need to impose their moral ideology on everyone else.

Some people are intent on cutting off their ideological nose to spite their face.

God Bless Terri Schiavo

Thursday, March 31st, 2005

Truly sad.

PINELLAS PARK, Fla. — Terri Schiavo, the brain-damaged Florida woman at the heart of an epic legal and political battle that launched a national debate on the right to die, has died.

The 41-year-old woman died Thursday morning, nearly 14 days after doctors removed the feeding tube that had kept her alive for 15 years.

“Terri Schiavo has passed and stepped into eternity at 9:05 a.m.,” said David Gibbs, lead lawyer for Schiavo’s parents, Bob and Mary Schindler

This has been such an emotional issue on all sides and I don’t think we will ever know what Terri Schiavo’s true wishes were. I still believe that forcing her to die was mornally wrong in the absence of a clear directive from her.

The Central Front “Interviews” Rogers

Thursday, March 31st, 2005

Be sure to check this out. I am still going over it myself so I will be commenting on it later after I have had a chance to read it thoroughly.

**UPDATE** 7:15 AM

Ok, I have read it. This wasn’t an interview [update: in the "classic" sense]. Interview transcripts have the actual questions and quoted answers. This was the recounting of a phone conversation. (Note: this isn’t a slam against R cain, I just think interview transcripts should be a little more formal. I applaude his effort in interviewing speaking with Rogers.)

I only have two questions and they are both for Michael Rogers.

1. Did you record the conversations with GayPatriot, his secretary, my ISP, and R Cain @ Central Front?
2. Will you release those tapes to the internet so people can judge for themselves your motives and intent?

It seems simple enough to clear this whole thing up, doesn’t it?

Note The Time

Wednesday, March 30th, 2005

I just got a call. I did a reverse lookup and the number was a cell based out of Glendale California. I didn’t answer and they didn’t leave a message. I decided to give them a ring back to see who it was and what they wanted.

The guy on the other end claimed to be in Germany and “really wanted to get back at this guy,” referring to Rogers. In fact, he repeated how badly he wanted to get back at Rogers several times, which made me more than a little suspicious. This person went so far as to ask if something happened to Rogers’ email and blog, if he was “smart enough” to figure it out. After assuring him Rogers (and Avarosis for that matter) have the resources to not only figure it out but also figure out who did it, I then I flat out said I would not approve of such an action and advised this person not to do anything stupid. In fact, I kept having to say that because he kept saying how much he wanted to get back at him. The whole thing was really creepy.

I don’t know if this guy was serious or was just trying to bait me into endorsing some kind of illegal action against Rogers, but bottom line is this: Do not do anything stupid folks. Rogers is simply not worth it. Do you want to go to jail while Rogers sits there laughing his pathetic ass off?

Keep it safe, non-violent, and legal. It’s better for you, it’s better for us, it’s better for free speech.

Off To Work

Wednesday, March 30th, 2005

For reasons that should be obvious to most, posting will resume after that whole work thing later today, just as a precaution.

I will be adding a new blogroll to the sidebar tonight with those blogs or sites that are displaying the “Wanted” parody. If you would like to be included, signal in the affirmative in the comments to this post. I am asking you to post a comment here so I am sure I have your permission to include you.

Also note that Christian Grantham has updated his post to include a running tally of folks displaying the parody.

I think there are a few more than that now. Did I just hear something backfire?

**UPDATE** 03/31/05 8:51 PM

If you would like to joing the Forced Outing Watch Blogroll, email me a request!

Oh Really Mr. Rogers?

Tuesday, March 29th, 2005

Reporting? Yeah, keep telling yourself that.

Thanks for the image Sherry! Explanation.

**UPDATE**

By the way, you are more than welcome to answer the questions I sent you and I will be happy to post your responses. That is, unless, you don’t feel “the truth” is worth taking the time. And yes, I changed the title - it just seemed more fitting.

How It Started And Thank You

Tuesday, March 29th, 2005

For those of you that are not fully aware how this whole thing with Rogers got started, you can check out Christian Grantham’s original article and his post this morning after learning my site was shut down.

Also be sure to check out Mark’s post over @ Tempus Fugit that recaps all that including today’s events. Mark - thank you for devoting so much of your time today to this issue.

I cannot thank these two gentlemen enough for their support and their willingness to highlight Michael Rogers and the terrorist tactics he employees in an attempt to silence those that would take him to task for his digusting campaign of outing gay Americans.

I would also like to thank Rob @ Say Anything for picking up the story as well, Misha @ The Anti-Idiotarian Rotweiller for being the first to put up the “Wanted” parody and everyone else that has emailed me today or left a comment on the blog. There are several people that have emailed me to tell me they have also put up the banner. I plan on harvesting that info from my email and comments and publicizing those blogs as well so please bear with me as the dust settles.

The support has been overwhelming and I wish I could thank you each and every one of you personally.

And to Greg, thank you for your unconditional and unwavering support in everything I do.

Today was a good day. But there is still one of us down. Be sure to stop by GayPatriot and make your support for his return to blogging known and show your support for Dan (aka GayPatriotWest).

If the guys @ GayPatriot want to move to Hosting Matters, I will pay for one year of hosting service for them and I will do the migration myself free of charge. Your voice deserves to be heard GP.

Hosting DOES Matter

Tuesday, March 29th, 2005

Well, it would seem hosting does indeed matter! I emailed Hosting Matters (thanks for suggesting that Mark!) and asked them to review the content I had posted. Here is their response.

Content cannot be defamation by definition unless it can be shown that the content is inherently and deliberately untrue. In your particular case, a simple google of “michael rogers gay” brought me to an article by The Independent (UK) about the very bullet points you have listed in the graphic, with quotes from him related to that subject. Further searches reveal other stories by regular journalistic outlets as well, with and without quotes. Suggesting people email him to voice their opinion of his actions is also not an actionable offense, since a look at his own site has links for email to the addresses you have listed - since he is inviting contact via email, and lists available addresses, your posting of them poses no violation of any of our policies or of any statutes. It is your opinion that his actions are as you describe them, and people are free to agree or disagree as they see fit, and post their own opinions, if they’d like to do so. In addition, there is nothing in your graphic that urges any violence against anyone - it reads, in fact, more like the sort of online boycott calls that go around from time to time. Therefore, we would take no action related to complaints by the individual about this item on your page other than to suggest he take it up with you.

Looks like I won’t need those other 99 shutdowns and moves any time soon.
