This was inserted into our Christmas cards this year – brassguy has such fun ideas. Which, really kinda irritates me now that I think about it because he never posts! Remind me to talk to him about that.

Or, at least the part of it that nailed its ass to the wall on the TANG scandal.
From CBSNews.com – Like all media, blogs hold the potential for abuse. Experts point out that blogs’ unregulated status makes them particularly attractive outlets for political attack. “The question is: What are the appropriate regulations on the Internet?” asked Kathleen Jamieson, an expert on political communication and dean of the Annenberg School for Communications. “It’s evolved into an area that we need to do more thinking about it.“If you put out flyers, you have to disclaim it, you have to represent who you are,” Jamieson said. “If you put out an ad you have to put a disclaimer on it. But we don’t have those sorts of regulations for political content, that is campaign-financed on the Internet.”
Is there any doubt that CBS is going to relentlessly pursue such regulation via stories such as this?
There has been some talk this week of Michael Moore getting an Oscar nomination for FahrenBS 9/11. Hollywood will be Hollywood so I expect that to happen. However, Passion of the Christ and Mel Gibson had better get nominations in the same categories (Best Picture, Best Directory) Moore does or I am going to start a boycott and ask you to join me in spreading the word.
My goal would be to send a clear message with abysmal ratings that, while Hollywood may have issues with God and those that believe, the majority of the country doesn’t.
Keith Olbermann just won’t let it go, in that scary ‘what if some alien in a distant part of the galaxy were to accidentally set off an explosion that tore apart their home planet, shooting asteriods the size of Texas into space hurtling toward earth, eventually impacting our planet and killing all of mankind – 10,000 years from now’ kinda way.

Yo Keith – question: when you say you had a “remarkable viewer response” to something you put on the air, given your ratings, does that mean more than 5-10 emails from looney moonbats still in denial?

Of course, we all figured this was coming:
WASHINGTON — Attorney General John Ashcroftand Commerce Secretary Don Evans resigned Tuesday, the first members of President Bush’s Cabinet to leave as he headed from re-election into his second term.Ashcroft, in a five-page, handwritten letter to Bush, said, “The objective of securing the safety of Americans from crime and terror has been achieved.”
“Yet I believe that the Department of Justice would be well served by new leadership and fresh inspiration,” said Ashcroft, whose health problems earlier this year resulted in removal of his gall bladder.
“I believe that my energies and talents should be directed toward other challenging horizons,” he said.
Both Ashcroft and Evans have served in Bush’s Cabinet from the start of the administration. Evans, a close friend of Bush’s from Texas, wrote, “While the promise of your second term shines bright, I have concluded with deep regret that it is time for me to return home.”
Lots of goings on this morning folks.
First up, the San Francisco Chronicle wasted no time at all using this image (from AP) as their front-page photo this morning, blown up X2. That has the unmistakeable scent of aid and comfort to me.
Our brave men and women have breached the center of Fallujah. According to press reports, a total of 14 of our soldiers have given their lives in the last two days. Please pray for them and their families and remember their sacrifice for our safety and freedom as well as the freedom of the Iraqi people.
Is he or isn’t he? And if he isn’t, WHAT THE HELL IS TAKING SO LONG??
Linked by Drudge is the official rejection of F911 by the Golden Globes – sorry Michael. Denied twice in one week. I might shed a tear…then again, aliens could visit and impregnate Babs and create some cross-species singing roach with a big nose.
Why don’t they just slit their own throats? Wouldn’t the death be quicker and less painful?
Someone is getting religion – and preping for Hillary’s run.

Rasmussenreports.com has Bush in the lead 50% to 46% – the first time either candidate has hit the 50% mark all year in the Rasmussen poll.

Gallup has released a preliminary poll on the debate last night and it basically shows what most of us thought – Kerry really didn’t help himself much and Bush definitely got his head back in the game:
Regardless of which candidate you happen to support, who do you think did the better job in the debate? Bush 45% Kerry 47%
How has your opinion of John Kerry/George W. Bush been affected by the debate? Is your opinion of Kerry/Bush — more favorable, less favorable, or has it not changed much?
Economy 2004 Oct 8 (post-debate)
49 Kerry 49 Bush
2004 Oct 6-7 (pre-debate)
44 Kerry 50 Bush
Situation in Iraq 2004 Oct 8 (post-debate)
46 Kerry 53 Bush
2004 Oct 6-7 (pre-debate)
50 Kerry 46 Bush
Terrorism 2004 Oct 8 (post-debate)
39 Kerry 56 Bush
2004 Oct 6-7 (pre-debate)
45 Kerry 52 Bush
Except on the economy, all the gains Kerry made from the first debate have been erased. Bush also wins on who shares your values (50-49), who was more likeable (47-45), who was more believable (49-45), and who demonstrated he was tough enough for the job (53-40). Kerry still maintained leads on style – expressed himself more clearly (54-37) and has a good understanding of the issues (47-42).
